Expressions of Interest for the Medical Rural Bonded Scholarship
Scheme as part of the Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery
(MBBS)
These Australian Government funded scholarships provide over $23,000
(indexed) per year to students willing to work in rural or remote
areas for six years upon completion of basic medical training
and postgraduate training. The grant is tax free and not subject
to any means test. The agreement is formalised in a contract between
scholarship holders and the Australian Government. Annually, four scholarships are available at the Tasmanian School
of Medicine.
