Typically we engage in curriculum research that overlaps with evaluation activities within the MBBS. Our research is conducted within an experiential framework, and could also be considered as practitioner-based research. Academic staff in Medical Education also supervise research higher degree students in the School of Medicine and in the Faculty of Education.

Evaluation Plan

• The School is developing an Evaluation Plan, and a three year rolling evaluation implementation plan.

Current Evaluation Projects

• The Preparation for Hospital Practice survey seeks to establish how well the course has prepared students for internship. The survey is done every five years, just prior to graduation. In some cases, graduates who are interns are invited to reflect back on the survey six months into their internship. PHPQ
